I want to believe all of this, really I do, but Jack Abramoff's credibility is definitely lacking. I'm going to need more than his personal word through emails to ThinkProgress.

In fact, the e-mails were sent to a reporter from the Washingtonian who has been in discussions with Abramoff since beginning work on a book about Indian reservation gambling. The e-mails became public when the reporter shared them with Think Progress with the expectation that they wouldn't be printed. Oops. :)
